The Year In Review

The Dancer Magazine Year in Review (YIR) is the first ever ranking of the most competitive dance studios in all 50 states, including special Superlative Awards. The YIR is printed in late January 2009 as an annual commemorative edition of Dancer magazine and mails to the complete Dancer mailing list. Additionally, individuals may purchase copies from our online store throughout the year. The top 3 studios in each state, along with the top 25 in the country, will be announced based on scores compiled from participating national competitions that were held during the calendar year.

The YIR Superlative Awards are viewer's choice. Dance studios set up an account on the YIR website, upload their favorite videos from that year's competitions (both Regionals and Nationals) and users vote for their top picks in categories set out by Dancer Publishing. This is your opportunity to have a year long presence in "The Only Competitive Dance Annual that Matters!"

Ranking Submission Guidelines:

Please submit the results for the top 3 winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd) for your top level of competition (if applicable) in all age divisions for categories that contain 4 or more dancers We will also need to know how many acts total competed in these categories.

Please refer to the sample submission below or contact Dancer Publishing should you have any questions or concerns.

All of the following information MUST be provided to be processed for the ranking: The name of your event and the location, total number of acts in the category and division, studio name, studio home city and state, name and number of song and act.

Additionally, we request that you send a program book from your Nationals so we can verify this information. Please send your program book to...

Only complete submissions and programs received before November 3rd, 2008 will be processed for this year's Dancer Magazine Year in Review.

*If you have more than 3 age divisions, please submit a top 3 for each division you offer. If you have more than 3 group categories with 4 or more dancers, please submit for each group category. If you have more than one National event, please submit separately for each one.
